This article is for any sites where the 3G cellular connection to a Solar Analytics Meter has been turned off and neither the meter, nor the solar analytics app is working and needs to be replaced.
Steps to follow
Before starting any work on site, review the existing site's switchboard layout:
- Identify existing supply voltage to switchboard
- Identify any controlled loads on site and whether these are already monitored by an existing current transformer/s
- Identify the number of Solar Analytics meter/s that need to be replaced
- Identify existing solar system/s details (if possible)
- Identify if any additional loads are to be monitored and ensure additional current transformers are provided. Examples include:
- Off Peak Controlled Loads like hot water services and underfloor heating
- Air Conditioning
- Electric Vehicle charging station
- Pool pumps and spa's
- Document current transformer circuit allocations for each meter on the current transformer circuit diagram (Link to PDF)
Begin Installation work:
- Isolate all sources of power supply to the switchboard (Grid, Solar, Battery etc)
- Test and confirm dead
- Remove the voltage & current transformer terminal blocks from the Solar Analytics meter and remove the meter from the DIN rail
- Add any additional current transformers to the current terminal block as per the current transformer circuit diagram
- Connect the voltage and current terminal blocks to the Clipsal Cortex meter
- Install the Clipsal Cortex meter onto the DIN Rail
- Repeat steps 3. to 6. for any additional meters to be replaced
- Turn on all power supplies to the switchboard including the Clipsal Cortex meter
