Contactor Specifications

Contactors can be supplied by various OEMs, however, the following specifications are strongly recommended to ensure reliable service of the Clipsal Cortex load control application:

• Suitable Nominal current range from 25A upwards for loads
  • Resistive loads including 3.6 kW or 4.8 kW heating element/s expected in 315L & 400L tanks
• Reasonable current de-ratings as per AC-1, AC-7a & AC-7b
  • AC-1: Non-inductive or slightly inductive loads, example: resistive furnaces, heaters
  • AC-7a: Slightly inductive loads in household appliances: examples: mixers, blenders    
  • AC-7b: Motor-loads for household appliances: examples: fans, central vacuum
• Compliance to IEC/EN 61095 & RCM approval
  • Rated for 100,000 electrical coil operations
  • Rated for 1,000,000 mechanical operations
• 1 Normally Closed Contact (NC) + 1 Normally Open Contact (NO)
• Coil Voltage of 240Vac
• 1 pole (18mm) width to save space
• Manual Override switch (I / Auto / O)
• RCM approval
• Hum Free contactors are not supported (Example Voltex Contactors MC-25-240-R-1NO1NC)
